MOTORING.
A motor-car owner, who drove his car through from Hamilton to Auckland last Thursday, reports a rather.exciting time. He was'. weather-bound tor two qiiys at the Waikato centre, and it was' not until after the gale that he. decided'to" venture on the run hoine. The .first , incident was the-blowing down of a, poplar tree in iront 01 his car when crossing the Waikato bridge. Near Huntly the road was under water in ut least a dozen places, but aa it was ; not very deep the car was dnven,. through it easily. Trees were down' m all directions,, and some large enough to do considerable damage had fallen across , the roads, but had been out through, and the trunks rolled to the roadside by .workmen. ... !■ ' . .'
