Priclcitt, Consul-Ge». eral for the United States, stated , today that the latest information from Washington is to the effect that the Hum-: phrey Ship Subsidy Bill has received favourable report from the> Committee of Merchant Marine and Fisheries, the vote being 10 to 7. Mr. Prickitt considers that it has a better , chance of passing now than heretofore. Should it become law the Consul-General is very hopeful that a new service will bo established between 'Frisco and Australasia.
