WAGES GOING UP.
EMPLOYERS' CONCESSIONS. By Teleerapa-Press Association-Copyright. New York, April 3. The Central Railway has increased by seven per cent, the salaries of all employees receiving less than 200 dollars a month who arc employed eastward of Buffalo. Companies employing 45,000 unorganised bituminous miners in Mnryland and West Virginia have voluntarily increased wages by five per cent. RATES OF CHINESE RAISED. CONSUMER TO PAY. (Rec' April 4, 10.20 p.m.) j . Sydney, April 4. As W outcome of the Factories Act etopping overtime, thereby curtailing their earning powers, the Chinese Cabinet Pieceworkers' Union of Sydney demanded an increase of wages. The masters granted an increase of 10 to 15 per cent. in wages f -with a corresponding increasorin the price of,the manufactured articles.
