His Excellency Sir William JlacGvegor, Governor* of Queensland, presided over the annual Foreign Missionary meeting held in connection with ;the Queensland Methodist Conference in Albert Street Methodist Church, Brisbane, on March 9. was glad to see they were living'up: to the. reputation for earnestness whichT had always characterised the Methodist! Church. Ho had good opportunity ofj seeing what could be done with the it-j tellect and intelligence of the- Fijian. The-! natives of the South Sea Islands were* not only contributing thousands of pounds for Church purposes, >but.;hacH also sent missionaries to New Britain and? Guinea, where ho (Sir W. MacGregor)! had been pleased to receive several of them. . In course of further remarks,, -his Excellency expressed the opinion) that every missionary should receive r* ■medical training. ■' , '
