A SPEEDY WINDING-TJP. !By TeleEranh.—Sneoial CorreeDonilenU v Christchurch, April 1. At the meeting of the North Canterbury Hospital- and Charitable Aid Board to-day Mr. T. C. Norris, secretary of the late Charitable Aid Bosrdj -presented a statement of that body's finances : for the year ending on' the previous, day. Ho explained that he had been enabled to do this by the courtesy of tho bank officials and the assistance .of his accountant. . : . '. .
' Members of.the board expressed their appreciation of the work that had been done, one member, remarking that it was a feat worthy of emulation by the Colonial Treasurer. The new board probably had its funds more nearly "in sight" than do' most local authorities. There was a credit balance from, the Charitable Aid' Board's funds of- £#502 13s. lid., which had been drawn from the bank/and was in the treasurer's safe.: . . '■ '. ".'
The treasurer of the Hospital Board waited on the meeting and presented cheques for £SO2O 7s. 9d., which represented that board's funds, exclusive of £4i40 on deposit with the Christchurcli City Council. ' - .•"
