Anderson-, a butcher,,died in tie hospital this morning as the result of a trap accident at-Inglewood on Wednesday, whereby his leg was broken. '•' AN OLD AGE PENSIONER'S END. Palmerston North, April 1. The body of a man which was found washed up on tho beach at Himitangi on Good Friday has been identified as that of an old age pensioner named T. Hodder, who threw himself off the Wanganui Bridge on March 18. . BODY FOUND IN A RIVER. - Chrlstchurch, April 1. A body has been found in the bed of the river Waimakariri. It is supposed to be that of Robert Barker, an elderly man, alleged to be of weak intellect, who has boon missing since February 26. The police have not yet returned to town with the body. .

Wm. Skilton, a cook on the steamer Maori, was admitted to the hospital yesterday afternoon suffering from a severe cut on his right arm.. It appears that the wound was accidently inflicted while Skilton was holding up a side of beef for the butcher to cut.
