, INCREASE 'TO DATE. '• In their fortnightly market report, issued yesterday, Messrs.' J. B.'> Mackwau and Co., Ltd., state: ' Butter.—The total 'of shipments from the opening of the dairy season, September' 1, is. I-}, 8"5 tons, as compared with 12,37-t for" the same period last season, an iricreaso of 20 per cent. Latest cablegrams from the British markets advise that prices were gradually declining from the recent advances with- the Value of average best at 1225. With the approach of spring in-the Northern Hemisphere a continued decline in prices must be expected,. . . Cheese.—The total of shipments from the opening Of. the dairy season, Septembei" 1, is 17,458 tons, as compared with 13,572 for the same period last season, ah iucreaso of '28 per cent. Latest cablegrams' from the British markets advise that best New Zealand brands were sellin,',' at 60s. Cd. to 02s. Conditions continue favourable with a steady demand, and prospects for the next month or two are bright. Stocks of Canadians arc small, and their early make" will not bo above normal.
