To-day (Easter Monday) the Post Office will be open in all. its branches (except the money-order department) from 9 to 10 a.m. Mails by steamers sailing on that day iwill close at 8. a.m. -The only dispatches by trains will be for the Wairarana- district, which will close at 6.30 a.m.; and those for the Manawatu, Wanganui. Taranaki, Hawke's Bay, and Auckland districts, which will close at 8 a.m. There will be no day clearances of the city and suburban receivers, and no deliveries by letter-carriers. ;' Mails for Cromarty, Pnysegnr Point, and Te Oneroa, close at Bluff, per Invereargill, Thursday, March 31, at. 3 p.m. The next best dispatch for Canada. West Indies, and United States of America, will be via Fiji, Fanning Mand, Honolulu, and Vancouver, closing at Wellington, per Main Trunk train, 11.15 a.m„ on Tuesday, April 12. .-.■'.', All the principal mailß by train and steamer close at To Aro and Courtcnay Place post offices at the same hours as at the Chief Post Office, with the exception that there is no late-fee clearance. Unless otherwiso specified, registered letters and parcels-post packages must be handed in and money-orders obtained one hour before the ordinary mail closes. All books and sample-packets and newspapers for places within the Dominion must be posted half an hour beforo tho ordinary letter-mail closes.-Money-orders for abroad must be obtained two hours beforo tho advertised liino of closing mails. • K.
