LACROSSE.
THE CAPITOL CLOT. A well-attended meeting of the Capitol Lacrosse Club was held on Wednesday evening, Mr. S. J. Moran presiding. The annual report congratulated the club upon its continued progress. Of the twelve representative players who.took the field against Auckland last season seven were members of the Capitol Club. The club had suffered greatly during the past season as a result of the establishment of two new clubs in the city (Kelburne and Columbia), the Capitol Club having generously conceded to this movement eleven of its most promising and enthusiastic players. The finances of the club were on a sound footing, there being a very substantial credit balance on the year's working. The thanks of the committee were tendered to Messrs. G. Shirtcliffe, J.P. Luke, M.P., and T. S. Young for financial assistance renSixteen new members were elected. Officers for the ensuing year wore choson as follow:—Patron, Mr. R. W. M'Villy; president, Mr. T. S. Young; vice-presidents, Messrs. Geo.. Shirtcliffe, J. P. Luke, M.P., T. Carmichacl, R. Fletcher, R. Clouston, J. •E. Fitzgerald, and Hon. Dr. Fmdlay; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. R. Rankin; 'committee, Messrs. .Lintke. Borrodale, Schulenbcrg, and Forbes; delegates to the Wellington Lacrosse Assciation, Messrs. Moran, Rankin, and Jautke. Votes of thanks were passed to the outgoing officers, and appreciative mention was made of ex-members who hod assisted in the establishment of now .clubs*- "
