Mr. Foster Fraser (who recently made a tour of Australia and New Zealand), in an article in the_ "Standard," accused young "Australians of. slackness, and flaccidity, due to : their languorous climate. Mr. Coghlan (Agent-General for New South Wales), in reply, points to the profioiency of young:: Australians in athletics, and denies that the Australian workmen's energy and enterprise are inferior to Englishmen's. He instances the Australian linotypers, compositors, coopers, and bricklayers as being quicker workers than the English.
