Waterh'eld, with the Hon. D. Buddo as Minister in attendance, paid a farewell visit to Ashburton County yesterday. Arriving at Rakaia by a special train from Lyttelton at 10.20' a m., His Excellency and party, under the guidance of local members of Parliament and public men, made a tour by motorcars from Rakaia and Ashburton, and were entertained suitably en route.' Last night a dinner was given in His Excellency's honour by the Ashburton Borough' and County Councils, when there was a large and representative attendance.
