SENSATIONAL TRIAL.
MURDER OF A COUNT. COUNTESS' THRILLING STORY. By Telegraph—Preßß Association—Copyright (Rec. March 20, 5 p.m.) Roma, March 19. . At the trial in connection with the murder of Count Kamarowski, the Countess Tarnowska, during an examination lasting several days, told a thrilling story regarding her married life. . Her husband, she said, was a brutal drunkard; and was constantly unfaithful. Tho countess's only lover was Bordenski, whom her husband shot with a revolver in her arms., . The evidenoe showed that - a man . named Stalk killed himself for love of tho countess. Tho countess violently' accused Naumoff in her efforts to clear herself of the charge of inciting Naumoff to murder • Count Kamarowski, though Naumoff's love for her seems to continue.- ' LOVE AND CRIME. In September, 1907, a (Russian named Nanmoft presented himself at the residence oi Count Kamarowski, a Russian, living in the Campo Santa Maria del Giglio, Venice. In spite of a servant's refusal to admit him, Naumoff forced his' way into the apartments of Ccunt Kamarowski, and, drawinga revolver, emptied five chambers at the Count.' The victim died not long afterwards. Tho persons who now stand their trial for the murder are (1) Naumoff, who fired the fatal shots, and-who is said to have been madly in love with the Countess Tarnowska, a Russian divorcee', who was betrothed to the . deceased Count. ■: (2) Tho; Countess Tarnowska, who was entitled to an insurance, of £20,000 on the life of the Count, and who is said to have influenced Naumoff. (3): Prilukoff,: a formerly well-to-do Moscow lawyer, who is charged with having instigated the Countess'splot, and who is said _,to have previously embezzled moneyin Moscow,- in the • interests of. the Countess. : ,- ' The Countess's maid, named Perrier, is also arraigned. _ '-.... . At the time of the crime, the Countess Tarnowska confessed to complicity in it, alleging that Naumoff fell desperately in love .with her.. She was betrothed 1 to Count Kamarowski, and Sautnoff determined to get rid of the latter, whose life insurance of £20,000, was in her favour! Prilukoff confessed that ho and the Countess planned the murder in order' to get the insurance money. ' -
