NOTES FROM NAPIER.

Napier, March 16. At the next meeting of the Hasting Borough Council, Councillor Donovan will move: "That this'council instruct the road overseer to procure, if .possible, by April 30 next, a list of tho names of ratepayers and residents who require Work, and that. they be invited by advertisement to register their names at the council's office." A movement is afoot to form a Trades and Labour Council in Napier. The ■' river protective wol'lis at Lindsay Settlement, AVaipawa," carried out by the Lands, and Survey Department, have been completed.
