Pritchard has been busy deducing, his weight during the last few days in order to rido Eongomai. AVoodhey, who ran second in the Napier Cup yesterday, is engaged in a sis furlong race' to-day. Bollin will be the Karamu representative in the big race. : Sir Prize, who pulled up. lame after running in the Egmont Cup last moiith, is now enjoying a; spell, and may not be raced again until the spring.
Pony owners are reminded that acceptances for next Saturday's meeting at Miramar close to-day. Lady Medallist was never engaged in the Great Northern Oaks, and Milan was withdrawn at the first forfeit. Consequently, two of the season's best fillies will not be among the competitors for the Auckland classic .event. * ,■.
Osiris, who is favourite for the Waipipi Cup, is very well after his racing at Wanganui. In a working gallop on the Opaki track yesterday -be hit out in a most attractive. manner.
It is understood that there is some little difference over- the ownership of Gold Bird, and that the stake which the liovse won at Wangnnui has been impounded pending-a settlement, of the difference.
A telegram from Mnsterton states that the weather was beautifully fine all day yesterday,"nail "that" the racing track at Opaki is in fine order for the meeting which commences to-day.
