THE UNITED CLUB.

In presenting their eleventh annual to* port the committee of the United Hockey 1 Club dougratulates, the club, on winning ' the senior championship. The first annual report, presented in 1900, congratu-. lates the club on winning this champion- : ship for the season (1899) preceding, and, except in 1906, a similar pleasant duty has fallen to each succeeding committee. The records of the teams for last sea- ' son are- as • follow: —Senior team, cup matches: Played, 11; won, 10; lost, 1. Goals for, 41; against, 18. The club last season played .22 matches, - w °n 13, drew 2, lost 7, and scored ,s'r goals against 32. Since its'formation the SIS as played in all 301 matches, won' 195, drawn 33, lost 70, and scored 974 goals against 506. .The senior eleven has* during the' eleven seasons of the club's existence played 102 cup matches, won .86, drawn 11, lost 5, scored 433 goals, against 112, and scored 180 championship against'2l.' The; junior eleven in' 1909 was seriously/affected by'the late starting of the; season, .and the. consequent" shortage of practice and active members. This the committee hopes' to seo 'remedied this year. In interprovincial matches' last season the club wat represented by Messrs. Jl.' Dwyor, L. E. Elliott, H. C. Hickson, W. J. Organ, A." P* King, and Gv P, Smythe. The ; club lost several members, last season by deaths, removals, and retirements, • and .will probably suffer further by l removals this season. The committee records .with great ra gret the deaths during the past yeai of two of the youngest and most promis* ing members of the senior, eleven, Messrs, Holl i s ail d, G. Eonaldson. Mr, • Ronaldson was the honorary, secretary, of the club, and also took up the duties. of honorary treasurer after the depar*' ture for Auckland. of Mr. E. H. von' Sturmer.' V ; .The bank, balance stands at 2s. 'Si,' in addition to which there is cash iahand to; the amount of 17s. 6d. '

WESLEY CLUB'S MEETING. The fifth'annual general meeting of the' : Wesley . Hockey • Club was held ; the Young Men's Classroom, Taranaki' Street, last evening. "Mr; W. H. Bemistt: presided over a large attendance oon-'-. gratulated the club on the fine position which it had attained. He urged thoa present to do their best.in the interests of the club, and wished them a successful season. • .

A vote of thanks was passed'to all who had-donated to the club's-funds, ol otherwise contributed to its success. Special mention was made of the interest shown in the club by the trustees of th« Wesley Church. It was decided to enter teams for tha senior and junior, competitions, and it was left to the committee, to decide whether. or not a third-class team - wentered. .- - -
