At Dannevirke, nothing was going so strongly at the finish ot tho Juvenile Handicap as Waikehua.

Master Delaval won a race at Bombay on January 29. He started a warm favourite.

• As no account of the Rawson Stakes has been .cabled to New Zealand, it would appear that Bobriltoff did not go. to the post for that event.. As'lie lias not been entered at the Hawkesbury meeting next -Saturday, his next, appearance will probably be during the following week at tho A.J.C. autumn meeting. .

The Soult filly Gloss, trained at Awapuni by G. Price, lias been railed to Napier, and will race in tho Sapling Stakes to-day. At Woodville this youngster was made favourite in the Maiden Plate, but she got a very bad run, and oould only finish' fourth. To-day she will be ridden by A. Oliver.

Ambala, who .after being badly left in the Electric Handicap at Dannevirke was only beaten by a neck, will race in open' oompany at Napier Park to-day. The time for the five furlongs in tlio Eleotrio Handicap at Dannevirke was lmiu. 1 Msec., and Ambala earned 9st. 91b. ■=.'

The "Daily Mail's" Berlin correspondent'says that, owing to the deficit in the Prussian Budget,, the Government has withdrawn its , annual contribution of ,£15,000 for stokes for horse races. Tho withdrawal meets with lively opposition from the 'German sporting fraternity.

A steeplechaser, named Scotch Moor, fifteen years old, tlie property of Major von dein'; Knesebeck, is still in training in Germany, and; looks like adding a few more to the 33 successes he has already gained in tho 130 races which he has contested/ The veteran's most ini-. portant-victory was probably in the Great Pardiebitz Steeplechase of 1905. He; is by Town Moor (son Of Doncaster aud Eu.tine) out' of Special Scotch, by Highland Chief ; out of Bonnie Bouohe, by- Macajoni.

" Tho rain which foil at Napier'on Tuesday. would- bo appreciated- by the trainer of Woodhey; After- pulling up at Wood-' villo,,Woodhey .showed symptoms , of sorer ness; Another - rearo, thai, will bo benefited by the soft going is Pcrolina. - In lier ; past efforts this season, the imported mare has always failed to hit out on the hard going, but on the plough she is-, always capable of defeating Polymorphous .
