Dr. Benson, aged seventy-three, and his wife, aged sixty-seven, swallowed poison while at their breakfast-table in a Philadelphia hotel, and died immediately. They were disappointed oiring to their failure to win the French Academy of Medicine's forty thousand pounds prize for a tuberculosis cure.
