TIIF. ARAHURA. • ' The Arahura left Westport for Greymouth at 4 a.m. yesterday,, and was out side the bar a few hours later. A report from Greymouth yesterday afternoon stated that the bar was dangerous, and that there was.little prospect of the Arahura getting--in before this morning. t: THE ANDROMEDA. A Press Association telegram from Lyttelton. states that the Wairuna, which arrived there yesterday from Westport, sighted a four-masted barque, presumably the Andromeda, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, halfway botween Stephen Island and the Brothers. The sailer was beating against a light southerly. Yesterday morning the barque was sighted from Seatoun, and she was then about 12 miles off the Heads, but as the wind increased sho passed out of 6ight again. • ' THE MARLBOROUGH SOUNDS. AN EASTER TRIP. In this issue the Union Company advertise that,' if sufficient inducement otters, the steamer Taliapuna will make a trip to the Marlborough Sounds during Easter week. It is proposed to dispatch the vessel from Wellington on Thursday, Karen 24, and after visiting 411 places of intcrest in the Sounds, she would return .to port on'- Tuesday, March 29. Applications for berths must be made by Saturday next.' DREDGERS FOR THE DOMINION. An ox-New Zcalander, now Ideated at Paisley, has the following to say in a letter to a friend in Wellington. A number of dredgers of different types have been constructed during the past twelve months, and three o£ them are now underway to the Dominion. The Maui, built by Messrs. Simons and Co., Ltd., Renfrew, for the Gisborne Harbour Board; the Eileen Ward, a very powerful suction dredger, built by Flomington and Ferguson. L.d.. for tho Westport Harbour Board; and the largo bucket dredger Hapai, also by;Fleniington and Ferguson, Ltd., for tlie Auckland Harbour Board. nddi;:on to theso Flemington and Ferguson also built a stationary suction dredge for the Auckland Harbour Board, and, including the Pantutu. recently launched for tho New Plymouth Harbour Board, the total value of dredgo plant built in Paisley and Renfrew during the year amounted to £130,000. Tho Paritutu should be ready about the fir6t week in March for pumping trials at Fleetwood and dredging trials in the Clyde, and should got away for Wellington, via ports, soon after."
