At Freiburg, Saxony, Payne, an English student, was sentenced to four months' imprisonment. and fined 850 marks for duelling .and resisting arrest. The duel was the seauel to a quarrel iii a cafe with a lioutenant. The officer draw his sword and Payne struck him, the duel following. ; The lieutenant has I been cashiered.
