(From Our Special Correspondent.) Palmerston,. March 8. The Palmerston High School Board of Governors held their monthly meeting last night. Present: Messrs. W. H. Collingwood (chairman); Hodder, Harper, Stubbs, Barnicoat, Park, Hirsch, and Archdeacon Harper. The rector, Mr.. Ji-'E. Vernon,: reported that the roll •miinber was. 188-117 boys 'and 71 girls, xhe- improvements authorised at a previous -meeting had been carried out,, and new desks had been received. The-'ln-spector-General's suggestion that the girls' should take (for science) physiology, health, and first aid, had been adopted. Hie -Director of the Technical School, Mi\.'F. D. Opie, reported thafthe "erirohneri'ts- at the school now totalled 630, this being a substantial increase over the roll number of the last term of the previous year. The Finance and Ground Committee's report stated, that .the grounds were in general good order, except that the boys' playground required some little attention. N Mr. T. P. Blake, who recently sold his farm at Stoney Creek, proposes leaving on_ a trip to England in April. , So far the only candidate for the Palmerston Mayoralty is the sitting Mayor, .Mr. J.- A..
