A desperate fight at Odessa between a notorious Anarchist named Slavinski and the police resulted ultimately, in the death, of the Anarchist, but not until he had killed: one policeman and had wounded a number. In the first place ten Odessa police attempted to arrest Slavinski, who. kept them at bay with two revolvers. He wounded three of them and thus escaped. ■ Eighteen police, armed with carbines, rediscovered him tho following day. Slavinski, firing from a house; killed one and severely wounded three. ' Slavinski finally died. He had received seventeen bullet-wounds.- .
