The Minister for Customs, Sir Robert Best, has issued a circular to Presidents of Chambers of Commerce, suggesting methods of advancing the .interests ■ of. Australian manufacturers and producers." These include bringing before Australians in concrete form—by means of standing exhibitions of products in the capital cities—the fact that'a large number of articles now imported can be locally supplied. The Minister further proposes the issue of. a trade journal, also the establishment of a commercial branch of the High Commissioner's office, and of a standing exhibition of Australian products in London. ' He invites the co-operation of all business men in the scheme.
