CARTERTON NOTES.

Mr. C.'\Wliyte, one of the. CartertoSi letter-carriers, who has been, away on annual, leave,, returned home on Friday, and resumed duty on Saturday morning., , On Friday evening, at Ifasterton, a ' well-attended meeting of poultry-farmers interested.in the promotion of a Wairarapa Egg. Circle was held, and Mr. T« H.'Rutherford presided, and Mr. W..K Chamberlain, of Messrs. Chamberlain aid Son, was present, and gave prices at which his firm were prepared to supplj members of the circle with various pout .. try-foods. He was accorded a vote of thanks. .Messrs. T. H. Rutherford (chairman), J. M'Causland,' W.. P. Simpson, T. Edge, C. A. Hanberg, and H. M. iioddinga ton (hon. secretary), were constituted, si committee.
