(By Telegraph.—Press Association.! Waihi, March 4. The Waihi Grand Junction, since the change of management, has entered upon more extensive operations, and the reduction in the cost of mining and milling is very considerable. The present return shows o. good margin of profit, and a much larger tonnc-ge will be treated in future with practically no addition of cost, as the plant and staff is sufficient :to deal with a larger tonnage than is 1 bci "F Seated present. Ample ore is ! available. The Royal, going east, is (states the superintendent) opening up particuI larly well, which is important,- as it gives ; a considerable length of run before reaching the Waihi Reefs boundary. The supci int-endent further mentions that the pre•sent development work in the mine is very satisfactory, and that in his opinion the No. 5 level has been co -little developed! that a. great deal should be discovered in the near future. It is intended .to push forward a_„ development work bv opening up new drives and faces. Tenders will be date for sinking the shait for the Jso. 6 level. ' WAIHI RETURN. (By.
