Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Limited, report having conductod a large clearing sale of surplus stock on behalf of Mr. Ohas. Harris at iiauiotara, Martinborough, on •Thursday, over .fiOtu sheep and 150 cattle being submitted to public auction. A large and representative attendanco of buyers were present, but business under the hammer was dull, the public apparently considering vendors' ideas of value siigntly in excess of ruling market rates. Most of tho lines Y/cro passed at auction, but, with tho exception of tho main lino of breeding ewes, a complete clearanco was ejected before tho Btock was turned out.
