LAND BOARD.
A special njeeting of the Wellington Land Board was held. at tho district office of tho Land and Survey Department yesterday afternoon. The commissioner (Mr. Jas. Mackenzie) presided. There' were also present Messrs. Jos. Dawson and H, T. Ellingham. ■ , • The following titles were approved:— Ann -Hammond, Section '5, ..Block VI, Hautapu (88 acres); Jl. E. B. Hammond, Sections 11, 12, and-10, Block VI, Hautapu (ISB and 190 acres); F. H., Earl, Section , 41, Manuniii Village Settlement (3broods 30 perches); Colin Meads, Section 20, . Block V, Apiti (2iiS acres); A. L. Luke, Lot 1, Block XV, Chinewairua (3 acres). • .

M'Dor.'iid the of .-a section in the Nireaha Village Settlement, who applied for reconsideration of .the board's decision to forfeit, tho board decided to confirm the forfeiture. Mr. P. Brady, licensee of Sections part 1 of 10 and G, Blocks IV and VIII, Puketo i, 29 acres 1 rood 28 perches, applied to transfer the same to Mr. H. P. Hansen, lessee of Scction 3, Block VIII, Puketoi adjoining, area 200 acres. It was resolved to obtain a further roport from the ranger. ' ■ Mrs. C. B. M'Kean applied to transfer Section 7, Block VIII Hunua, 937 aores, to Mr. H. Board. It was resolved that, the ranger should report. : The executrix in - the estate of Mr. Thomas- Green /(deceased) applied to transfer Section' 29, Rakautoru V.S., 11 acres 2 roods 4 perches, to Mr. W, H. Billinghurst, lessee and owner; of 532 acres 2 roods 6 perches not adjoining. It was resolved to decline the request. Mr. W. T. Sherred applied to tTansfer 6ection 1, Block X, Eangataua V.S., 3 acres 2 roods ■ 20 poles,- to • Mr. B. (j. Whishaw. i Permission was granted. Mr. A. Fraser, lessee of Section 7, Block Vl,' Maungakaretu, Itaketapauma, I.l'm 113 acres, 1 applied -to transfer 'the same to Mr. J. White. Approval was granted. Mr. H. E. Porritt applied to transfer part 1 of Section 28, Block V Waipukura, 950 acres' to .Mr.'. -A.' G. Moore, who states he already holds 4£o acres ; of freehold land near Marton which lie-is exchanging for the above section. It was resolved to approve. . , With reference to the proposed transfer, of'Section 23, Si, and 16, Block XIV, Maungakaretu,' ■ 600 acres, from Thomas Aitchison to Mr. Robert .Aitchifion, it was resolved to .postpone consideration until the morniiig. ■ With reference to the transfer of -Section 6a, Block XT,-Mount Cerberus,; from Mr. A. Lones to Mr. T. A. Yeoman, it fras resolved to-postpone the matter, .until it was showed that; the conditions on which transfer was, agreed to have been "complied "with. , ■ # Mr. H. J.' Bartosh;-; He also applied to transfer Section 29, Block IV, Tararua, 10 acres to the same person. ■ It was resolved to obtain a report from the Crown Lands Banger. .- ■ Mr. J. C. E. Chapman applied to transfer Section .15 and 28, Blocks IX and V, Huangarua Tawaha Settlement, 59 acres, 2 roods 15 poles to Mr; John .Smith. It. .was -resolved to, recommend: the, ..appliapproval under''the circum-; Mr. E. M'Vorry applied to transfer Section 9, Block VIII, Wairarapa,: Ta-waha-Settlement, 50 acres 1 rood 10 poles, to "Mr. A! Douglas and, Mrs. V. Donglas on the ground that he has interest in land in Ireland' and' mustVproeeed there to!look after it. It was resolved tD.leave the matter in. the hands;of : the commissioner. ~ Mr. P. O'Neill, lessee |of Section 65, Black VII Tararua, Nireaha.,'V.S;, 49, acres 2 roods 12-poles, wrote explaining why he had not complied with the improvement, conditions-of his lease._ It wasresolved not to rescind the. decision- to' forfeit,' but to withhold action for three months to see if the Act is complied .with. .. ... 1
