Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Masterton, write:—"ln our sale report on the Marclnborough' ewe fair appearing in your paper this morning we find we made a'mistake in regard to'the ewes submitted on account of. Messrs. M. and F. M'Leod. The report says: 'A record price for. four-year ewes,' etc. This should have read 'fourtooth ewes.'"
Messrs. Dalgaty and Co., Ltd., Palmer--Bton North, report:-At pur Palmerston sale on Thursday, February 24, we had a very good entry of both, sheep and cattle, practically tho whole of which were disposed of at satisfactory prices. Quotations—Sheep: Cull lambs, 3s. 9d.; medium lambs, 65., 6s. 3d.; small woolly lambs, 65.;. medium ewe lambs, 7s. 3d.;' mixed age. ewes, 7s. 10d., Bs., Bs. 2d., Bs. 6d.; aged Romney ro.ms, 10s. Cattle: Small heifers in calf, £3; empty cows, £2 10s., £2 15s. to £3; bulls, to £3; fat cows, £4.105. to£4 155.; small mixed weancrs, 155.; 2J-yoar steers, £4 10s.; 3-year stoors (bad colours), £4 18s.; a Una of 184 forward bullocks realised £6 6s.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report:— We held our neual fortnightly 6alqs at Wanganui on February 23, and at Waverley on ' February 25. At Wanganui .'wo yarded 5200 sheep and 80 head of cattle. The bulk of the sheep yarded consisted of rough lines of full-mouth ewes, which met with i quieter demand than we have- experienced for some time, though we succeeded in Quitting the bulk of the.yarding before the close of the day. Cattle wcis in good demand, and sold well.- At Waverley wo' had a. good yarding of 6000 sheen and 80 cattlo. 'We penned ijovoral good lines of wethers, including 1800 4-tooth on account of P.hriunui Station. .Bidding for all classes was free, a;id particularly 60 for wethers, which sold from 11s. 6d. to 12s. Id. Cattlo were in fair demand. Messrs, Dalgety and Co., Ltd. (Paltnerstoh North brar.ch), report held a clearing sale on account of Laurenson's Estate at Tokomaru 02 Saturday. February 26. There was a good attendance of buyers, and all sheep and cattle offered met a ready sale. The majority of the horses- were : sold, but several failed to roach the reserve. A quantity of harness and sundries sold at-current rates. Quotations.:—F.m. ewes, 7s. Id.; mixed age owes, 9s. 7d;;'4-ycar ewca, 105.'2 d.; 6-tooth ewes, 12s. Messrs. Dalgoty and Co. report:—At our eFilding ewe fair on Friday last a very good entry came to hand, and we managed to o.uit all lots offered with the exception of one small line of ewes. Owing chiefly to the-good rain on Thursday, evening, competition was Veen, nnd prices were maintained right throughout the sale.
