(By Glbmcob.] The Hutt Park Racing Club's Febru-' ary meeting, which was to have been held on Saturday, had to be postponed on account of tho unfavourable weather and the presence of the volunteers on the racecourse. .... . West, architect, has received instructions from the Otakj Racing Club to proceed at once with,the erection of stands and other buildings on the new course, so as to be ready for. its. next meeting on Juno 3. The plans have already been approved. ."■.-■ Mr; lan Duncan is shipping three yearmgs to Sydney- by the Moana,. which C£ve3' on March H. All three are by ■h"cheran. They, go to Sydney in charge ot A. Cochrane, and will be submitted-to auction at Eastertime. • Arrangements' had been made to-send Taskmaster to Wanganui to fulfil his engagements in tho Cup, and the Treadmill colt got as far as Lyttelton to- join the steamer. Before he was shipped, howoyer, Sir. George Clifford issued instructions for him to be sent back to Riccarton. . . . ' ■ . Mr. R. C. Hungorford been notified' Oi tho death of his late father's, old favourite, Whakawatea, at' Queanbeyan recently. Whakawatea was by Apreraont, and, bred in Now Zealand in 1889. In the late Mr. Hungerford's colours he ran in; about 14 races as a two-year-old, and continued on the turf until 17 years of age.' 'Old Whak." was a great favourite with Sydney racegoers for many seasons.
