Hungorford been notified' Oi tho death of his late father's, old favourite, Whakawatea, at' Queanbeyan recently. Whakawatea was by Apreraont, and, bred in Now Zealand in 1889. In the late Mr. Hungerford's colours he ran in; about 14 races as a two-year-old, and continued on the turf until 17 years of age.' 'Old Whak." was a great favourite with Sydney racegoers for many seasons.
