Amateur Swimming Championships meeting provided some sensational. contests. The' weather was ideal; the bright sunshine being tempered by a cool wind which, did not affect swimmers in thebasin of : the' dock. The 220 Yards Championship gave the crowd the first of a series of sensational ances, Healy" arid 'Freyberg- finishing in a line, each under New Zealand cord " time. Atlciiison ' also' created , a sensation," by winning the 220 yards breast stroke . championship i in world's . record time, clipping 3 3-ssec. off P. Matson's time of 3min. 14sec. Healy. won the 880 yards; championship in New Zealand record time. ' Champion started,- but when leadirig ; o'n equal terms with Healy ricked himself in arid, gave up at 480 yards. .'/The results are as follow:—
