THE "ALL NATIONS" 'FAffl. , •. (From'Our.'Special OorresDondcnU Palmerston, February 18. When the AU Nations'-Fair, was first mooted-by. the Mayoress (Mrs.. J. A. Nash) as a means to. raise funds to erect a .consumptive annexe . for women, at Palmerston; the sum aimed, at was ,£IOOO, but tho function lias "exceeded, tho' most sanguino expectations. Originally it was intended to hold' a two days' fair, but the proposal was. taken up so enthusiastically, . and assumed such proportions, that a third day .was found ■ .necessary. Even that, however, did not exhaust tlio store of goods contributed, and, the fair was- continued again , to-night. During the. course of tho fair, the , attendances inivo been large, and tho committee and assistants have, never flagged .in their attention to business. .. The result has been that nearer #1500 than .£IOOO will be raised for tho worthy .object set out, and this happy result must fie gratifying indeed to all concerned. .
.Mr. : W. L. Scott(president) occupied the, chair at the annual meeting of tho Palmerston Liedertafel last evening. TLo report, showed that the. Liedertafel hud £ a d •:a I ;.most j 'siiccessful season, its membership, having increased (especially as regards honorary members), while the concerts had been well patronised by tbo public.- The?balauce-sheet showed a small amount .tcr'credit;' :The- following officers ivere ; for the , ensuing year:— President, Mr. W.
