SAILING.
On Saturday afternoon the Te Aro Sailing Club got off one of their usual weekend races. The following were the handicaps—Nan (scr.), Lotus (lOmin.), Ishmnel (lOmin.), Doroen (lOniin.), Redwing (101 min.)> Eiyar(l3rain.), ; Valeta (Umin.); and Wiufred! (lOJntin.). A good .northerly breeze took the boats round, tho course,' the ltcdwing finishing at Ihr. 32min., 1; Ishmaol, ihr. 33min.,2; Valeta, 4hr. 35 min. 45sec, 3. !u The Wmfrod's rudder carried away, and she had to give up the race.. , .'■ ..,. ■.. / . ..-. '■- The ocean yacht race which was to have been held by the Port Nicholson Yacht Club had to be postponed, as the secretary of the club could not get a launch for the,purpose of acting; as a buoy to mark/ an important position-of the course. :
