The'membership now stands:—Ladies, 51; I gentlemen, 101; non-playing^members, 28; total, 186.' The expenditure on: tho course, has, naturally, been very heavy this year, aud it was found-necessary to raise a further JE3QO; This-sum was 'borrowed on a eecond mortgogo of the property on satisfactory: terms.. Tho expenditure' in wages and '■'other items . shown oh-- thev balanoesheot represents,.in addition lo upkeep of existing greens,, a great deal of labour on. tho second nine-holes,; which might have been properly chargeable' to tho property account, but as the-.capital of that account was exhausted, the. ..revenue account has been charged with the amounts. . . - ;

'■■ The thanks of the club aro due to Mr. C. 8., Russell 1 for' the haralsome seat, which extends, the whole length 'of the verandah, and to llrs. Firth,-Miss Parsons,,and Messrs.-..W. Calender, B. H. Dean, and C..B..Triniriell for "various ar-. ticlos. of furniture., Tho club, championship was won by Mr. H. K. H. Balneayis, and tliei ladies', championship by Mrs.' J. Rose.
