The magnificently-staged musical comedy, "The Kiug of Cadbnia," still maintains its high placo in public favour, ihe Opera House was again crowded last night/Mr. Bert Gilbert, - Mr. Victor .Prince,'and.Miss Lottie.Sargent are irresistible laughter-makers, and tho acting and singing of Mr. Herbert .Clayton and Miss Dorothy Court ;are receiving the; appreciation which they ;SO amply merit. There wilt lo a, mutineo of "The-King of Cadouia" this" afternoon, when: the curtain will riso at two o'clock. Special reductions in priceß have been arranged for children and schools attending. "The Story of Havana," tho' next- production, which, is written by George Grossmith, jnn.; and Adrian Ross/centres round the love of Consuelo (a Cuban .heiress) and Jaskson Villiers (a young English vacbtsman). Consuelo is in'reality, betrothed to her cousin (Don Adolfo),-but the botrotbed couple do not care for each other, and resolve to spend the day before their, wedding in perfect .'freedom, flirting with whom.thoy. please. In following out this/decision Consuolo meets Jackson Villiers, and hurls, at him the full, storo of the Cuban witchery. He, however, docs- not respond/too' warmly to her advances; and in the second; act, when she is led to believe that. Vjlljers is in'.'reality an enemy to her country,she strikes him. across the face with her' glove. But in' the end matters Are. straightened out, and Villiers and Sonsuelo come together again/Much of the humour "of the piece is introduced by a■ band of desperadoes, who call.themselves the Red Liberals, and wbo evolves a scheme 'to, make one. of- their 'supporters, -Isabelita, Queen- of Cuba. And/still further food for-laughter is supplied' by„Nix (on -English . bp'sun), who is in searoh.of the-wife' he married and'deserted seven years before. The unfortunate Nix is said'to be Mr. Bert Gilbert's best/ comedy, impersonation. Mr.-Herbert Clayton, Mr; Frank Reenc, and Mr. Victor; Prince are all.'happily cast; whilst Mr; W. S. Percy will ba;.the Reggie of the' occasion, and: Miss Godwin/the.-'Consuelo.
