Iheu came a new and sensational de? velopment in: the shape of the cyolone aad downpour - at Brewarrina; a town* ship on< the. Barwon,over -a; hundred miles ■, below-; Walgett. Not more than a dozen buildings - in ' BreVarriiw -' leaped serious damage. The total cost of tho havoo was estimated ,at .£15,000, the'rail.way was 'washed away' in places, and'the last cablegram: reported that ."the" Barwon was rising rapidly. So it is not surprising -to. learn to*day. that jßourke, which is situated on' the Barwon,' over a: hundred miles, below Brewarrina, is "in fear §■' floods.
