Tho ; exeoutivo. of. tho Now Zealand " Federated .Typographical Association forwarded the proposed coUt ditions formulated '• by., the Wes'tland Typographical Union to govern.the conditions of machine and hand 'work, and after, consideration: of "the draft proposals, it :was. : decided -to accept them with two or three verbal alterations. .The report and balance-sheet -were adopted with, the exception of Clause 11. of. the' report, which recommended" that .o, sum of money besot aside.as a separate fund .to meet matured retiring allowances.'.. It was decided to .guarantee 1 to take 240 oopies iveokly of tho Labour paper (the"Weekly, Herald") forVfurtker term -of three, months. On tho: recommendation of -the"'board-'it' was resolved ;that tho ■sum .bf'-'.X2O. be forwarded to the wives and ohildren; of the New South .Wales coal : miners now oh strike to secure hotter working conditions; and tho-abtioh of the Wade-Government in passing the recent labour 'and' anti-strike -legislation:' was'.severely.'o.riticised;3as was' Mr. Wade'suttera'heos at .a recent 'function in .Wei-, lington',.in .which he (Jealt.-with the strike and tho leaders of tho,iuen. ; ' A. further motion was carried expressing sympathy with those unionists; who have been imprisoned in. New- South Wales for, fighting- the cause of, their fellow-workers. In accordance "with the rules of - tho union ,a ballot; will''have to be'taken.to confirm tho decision to votoi£2o as above noted."
