Tho firm of Krupp's, Essen, has constructed 'two guns for tho'destruction of airships—ono of a diameter of 74 centimetres (3 inches) to, be mounted on a motor-car, and the other of 101 centimetres (1J inches) for use on warships. Both guns firo a shell discharging a trail of luminous smoke, whereby tho conrso of tho projectiles can be followed. Tho shells are so constructed as to explode the gas in tho airships.
