V ■■■ ♦ .-j A question was asked by Councillor Fitzgerald at th« .City Council .'meeting last night regarding the-Karori Borough special rates. He said ;that. it -was eight I months . ago since the council had considered the necessity ..for the, matter,. and for having the, question definitely answered as to which body ought "to collect.the rates.- : ' The Mayor (Dr. Newman) • replied that the officers of the council had .lrritten several times to the Government. The Department Jiad been rung up and harried about it, until, at last, the Hon. Mr. Buddo, Minister for Internal Affairs, had; promised to set up a conimission at an early, date to settle .the;, dispute. The City Council had done all it could.
