Hutt Park Committee for the Dominion; Scouts, .who desire the use; of, the park . for' camping purposes about'the middle of February., An. application was recently .received by the Hutt Park Committee from the Defence Department for the .use of the park on February • 22,.. 23, and 24, for an" inspection by Tield-Aiarshal' Lord Kitchener.' The chairman of the 1 committee (Mr: H. Baldwin) has granted the same at a rental of >£2 10s.-for'the three davs. ;[y '.; ,• The ratepayers of Petone are no doubt aware that polling takes, place to-day at. St. Augustine's Hall, : Victoria Street, in connection . with the council's proposals to raise loans for works nearirig com-' pletion. The loans at issue, are: Nelson Street ■ extension V and creek • diversion, ,£800; drainage of eastern Petone,' .£6550. ■ A cricket match,, to bo played' on Saturday, has been arranged .between the 'Hutt and Petone senior 'teams.
