Accounts, amounting to ,£30,93G 9s. 7d. wero passod for.-payniont as under:—lnterest, accounts, and wages, ,£27,01)5 19s Id*;-progress on contracts, ..i3ofid-.-45.--Bd.';. salaries' for: January, -£77-1 Gs.. .Id. - Tho bank pass books showed- current account credit balance, .420,709 15s. 3d.; 'imprest account, .IMBG 14s. Bd.; on! fixed deposit, .£71,100. Tho . Wharves and Accounts Committee, recommended the boaTd:—(l) 'i'o grant a foreshoro license for a boatshcil arid skids in Evans Bay' to Mr. N. Gibbs on tho usual terms, subject.to . tho; approval of tho plans bV the Govenior-in-Counoil. . (2) To adopt tlio recommendation' -of tho engineer .not to provido cranes on the' Clydo Quay Wharf until'it is shown they aro necessary. In -regard, to . the first clause, ..the chairman remarked -that the board could cancel the liccnso by: giving three months' notice, and without paying compensation. . .The recommendations .werq agreed to.
