The "Produce Markets' Keview" (London), in December, Avrpte.of ;the salmon position that Alaska, salmon-was , still very scarce; in fact, there was no previous record of any similar shortness at that 'season or , the year. Small arrivals by overland routo wero fetching, very full prices, and there was not. much likelihood of any relief until some of the long-route shipments arrived.-. Even then no (rreat easing olf in. price was probable, because there would bo * such ■an enormous demand, l'hers was a good deal of talk about lib. salmon, and surprise was expressed at the very limited J: quantities bffcrine in . first hands, tho conjecture being that a large proportion of tho pack had been disposed of.
