LODGE MEETING.
•■■'■' The . weekly : ; session" of the •' Pioneer Lodge; No.'.U International,', - Order;; of Good Templars, was held in the.Rechabite Chambers, Manners Street, on Monday evening. Bro. R. Coulter, C.T., presided over a record attendance of mem-, bers. and friends. '•;Several', visitors ■.•wore present who.'- conveyed '■ greetings from various lodges, including the Kia. Ora Lodge, H.M.S. Challenger. A,reunion of past and present members, and a Dialogue Night were arrange'd by the-Har-mony Committee, who also provided a very interesting musical ■ programme, borne of .Wellington's oldest -Good Templars were present, namely, BroY F H. Fraser, and Bro. A. J. Bennett, who, in short but very instructive addresses gave accounts of the' good work which done: by "the (order' since its' advent to this-city many years ago. Bro Fraser spoko of the time when. there were no. Good Templar Lodges hero, and gave :an account of the ■ opening of the iirstpne. Musical arid 'vocal items were contributed as follow—Pianoforte solo," Sis; AUsop;;:song, "Miss nPorteus; song; Bro: .Newton; Sis. Pepper (encore); song, Bro. CressweU; song,. Miss; Porteus; song, Bro. Newton. Jfro.X• B. Thomson, G.C., gave an, inaddress. A humorous: dialogue, entitled "The Marble Arch,"' was contributcd, the characters, being filled bv •Sisters P. RichardsandCS. Kelly, and Bros. R. Coulter and Reid. During, the evening refreshments were provided by the Jiarmony Committee. 'Seai'ty votes of thanks to performers and .'visitors were carried by acclamation,: several visiting . members 'and friends'.responding. A very pleasant evening was'; brought: to a close byismging "Auld Lang Syne."
