Messrs. ,A. H. .'Atkinson .and Co., Ltd!, of 'Feildihg,. reporting on Friday's.-sale; state that a very largo entry-of-pigs-came forward, 'every pen being-filled.. Bidding, how-, ever, was lifeless, and although- they quitted nearly overy, pen, values showed ■ a Bharp decline all j-ntmd, aud vendors had to accept practically anything offering. Milk yields have been, sensibly-less during tho last few weeks, and this lias helped to accentuate'the present,.slump by, forcing dairymen to place pigs on to an already •'depressed. market- Poultry . was in fair supply,-but no well-grown table birds wore forward. - The market, as Is usual at tho time of year, was not strong for indifferent sort?. They had a very heavy supply of fruit of.really excellent!quality, 'some 250 cases of tomatoes, peaches, plums, apples, and iars of raspberries finding n. ready market,, and selling at prices shoiving -a. pood return to , growers. . Plums only are 'difficult of sale .with the .abundant■ local supply, and large quantities coming on to tho market from outside sources. - Good -potatoes,---free from'!: blight; ' are selling well, and made valuc3 coual to £9 ner ton.'
