The thud annual cpnference pf the Assoouition of Suggestive Therapeutics' opened on December SO, at the residence of tho president, Mr D Shaw, Papanui Road, ChristchuTch Delegates fiom vari-' pus parts of the Dominion were present 1 The president, in welcoming the delegates, said Although there had been no phenomenal happenings during the past jear, the progress mado towards gaining tho objects of the aesociatipn, namely,' tho'recognition of suggestive therapeutics as a swentifio method of healing, was 1111-, doubtcdly gaining gipund evcrjwheie, not only in Ne-n Zealand, bnt in Europe I and America It was to be found in the magazine, the newspaper, and the novel It was discussed in tho marketplace, at hotels, nnd at clubs, as well as in the homes, and wherever men gatheied tpgether, some phase pf psychic phenomena came up for discussipn One of the uses of the assoe-ation was to have certain principles loleaily explained and demonstrated in over) day practice, &o that the whole world might See them, and they could, after neighing tho evidence, conclude whore the theoiy and practice coincided Messrs John Stuart Hislop and Arthur Sidey, of Ounedin, were elected honorary members of the association The report and financial statemont were read and adopted Tho piosident delivered an address on "Tho Creative Power of Thought," which wns followed by an interesting discussion and a voto of thanks to Mr Shaw Hγ r Helps, Dnnedm (\lce-presldent), read a paper on "Psycho-Theiapeuhcs" This was followed by an animated discussion, on conclusion of which a heaity of thanki was accoided him A paper was read bj Mr W B Tavernei (Dunedin), "Recognition of the Infinite " It was decided to hold the next confeience at Chiistchurch on December 80 and 31, 1910 The president referred to the services rendered bj the secretarv, Hiss E Halt, in preparing tho nork of the confcience, etc, and, on behalf o f the association, presented her with a handsome ring
