Ton firit offdnders for drunkenness were convicted and. discharged, and two more, Hhovfailed"to'aj>pcar, were each fined 10s., in default!!! hours' imprisonment. Frederick John Culley, John Danahy, and Harry Iveson were' convicted and discharged. Terence M'Alear, with three provsous conviction , ;, was ordered to come up' for' sentence when called upon. Thomas Fmnerty, who had been once, previously convicted on a charge of drunkenness, was convicted and discharged. Oma second charge of assaulting Constable M'Dowell, he was fined £3, in default H days' imprisonment. John Cotter, who was charged with having that morning obstructed Constsble Glynn while in the execution of 'his duty, lasked for a remand. The Court I deckled to hear the case.on December. 28, ' and allowed bail—accused in .£lO, ftiul 0110 surety of a bins amount. Joseph Kobinson, charged with threatening .behaviour in Willis Street on Christmas' Eve, was fined 10s., or 48 hours' imprisonment. William Shoehy, a seaman on the steamer Sussex, pleaded guilty to a charge of having absented himself from tho vessel without leave on December 21. Accused was discharged on the understanding that ,he would bo placed on board the steamer, which was leaving immediately. .Charles Mooro admitted having stolen three shirts, valued at 10s. Cd., from tho door of Patrick M'Farlane's shop in Vivif<n Street on Christmas Eve. Tho Court made an order that tho stolen properly should ho restored to tho shopkeeper, and sentenced accused to seven days' imprisonment,- instructing that he should, he placed on board the steamer Athcnic (ho Loing one of l -tho cren) before she left Wellington. • '' ' Having been arrested on tho previous ovening on a ohargo of failing to maintain his two children* John Henry Clark was reman ded to appear before the Magistrate at Auckland on December 01. A ibmand was nsked for in tho case of Alexander Crogan,, who' Mas etiafcged with beinj found drunk in Taranaki Streot, while - in J possession of a loaded revolver. Accused was accordingly remntided to appear on December 31.
