'A Woodville Wedding. A'correspondent reports a. wedding of" considerable local interest, which took placo at St. David's Presbyterian Church, . 'Woodvillo, on Wednesday, December 22, when Miss Ellen Laing, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Laing, of the Maetmic Hotel, was married to Mr. Fred. Hutchic, town clerk of Woodville. The church was- beautifully decorated for the occasion. 'The Kev. Mr. Gardner conducted tho'!cer;jr.iony. Tho bride, who was given by her father, wore a handsome.empire gown of cream satin .channeuse," trimmed with silk lace and chiffon. She caried a bouquet of white ' lilies and sweet peas, and wore a veil vhich'hod been exquisitely embroidered 4 by ,her sisters. Her bridesmaids were Miss Eva Laing (sister of the bride), Miss Maggie Hutchin (sister of tho bridegroom), with ■, little ' Misses Phyllis M'Glashan (nierje of tho bride), and Ella , Hutchin (niece'of the bridegroom), tho four maids being attired in dainty gowns, and carrying crooks. The ■ bridegroom's bro-'ther,-Mr. E. Hutchin, was best man,, and Mr. C. A. G. Smith groomsman. Fully 120 guests sat down to the wedding breakfast, served, at the home of tho bride's parents, and a large number of friende were entertained at a dance.'in ' the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Hutchin left for-a trip to the South Island. Tho bridegroom's present to the bride was a ,pearl and amethyst pendant,'to the el- , ~der' bridesmaide gold neck chains, and < Jto the younger ones gold brooches. The brido's present .to the bridegroom was a gold albert. Mrs. Hutchin's. travelling dress was a, tailor-made costume of 'moloDolonred cloth, and with it she woro a pale' bluo and amethyst toque. ' '' A Children's Party, '/ / On 'the afternoon, of Christmas Ere,Lady. Ward gave a delightful -children's garden party for her son \ Pat, when about forty children were present, - with a-number of groivn-up folk. Out on. tho lawn there was a Christmas'tree covered i with delightful presents, • and these distributed to tho httlo 'guwts by a scarletrobed Father Christmas. During the afternoon, three nnall children danced Terr prettily,'and'the children played many a jolly game. Afternoon tea was served out on the'lawn, and altogether the children, had an enjoyable afternoon. Among the guests who came to watch the children's fnn and help them to enjoy it wore Mrs. MacEwan, Mrs. Chris-1 tie, Mrs. A. Pearce, Mrs. D. Nathan, Mrs. Fitchett, Mrs. Beauchamp, Mrs.'K. 'Duncan, Mrs. Dyer, Mrs. Loughnan, Mrs. Lecße, and Mrs. Davios. And soveral , of Miss Ward's girl friends helped to gerve the tea, among them being Miss I Prouse, Miss Jones, Miss >B. Putnam, Miss Beanchamp, and Miss'E. Russell. I One tiny'guest who enjoyed the party im- i mensely was Mrs. Algar Williams's little I girl; tho youngest of all the merry, crow. ]
