Cook (who claimed to have" reached they North Pole, and whoso claim is now' regarded by some of his frieuds as an "hallucination") realised profits from his lectures estimated at .£21,400, besides .£5600 from his contribulions-to tho newspapers. The Explorers' Club of New York has expelled Dr. Cook after receiving a report adverse to him from a committee which examined his claim that ho reached , tho summit of Mount M'Kinley,' Alaska.
