Stewart, a prominent resident of' Dunedin,; died at his 'residence, "Melncss," Anderson's Bay, yesterday, aged 79: The late Mr.. Stewart cama to Dunedin from Australia' in the early 'sixties,and, in 1884, retired from active business. : He is survived by; his widow, and a family , of two sons and one daughter—Captain R.,Stewart, late in command of the Union Steam Ship Company's Takapuna, Mr.' J.-\A.'. : Stewart, manager'in Wellington of the Industrial Branch- of the A.M.I?. Society, and' Miss Elizabeth' Stewart, of Dunedin.
