Tho intermediate drive has now been extended about 50ft. on the hangingwal! branch leader, and for the whole distance the ouartz has shown cold, and frequently yielded a,.little picked stone. A i,drive.-to cut the leader is now beisg.put in at No. .6 level. Stoping on tho footwall branch leader going eastward is in progress, and from the cuartz'broken during the. week a ; few, pounds of picked stone, have been selected. At the' battery crushing Is in progress, and tho cleaning up will . tako place - some time next woek." In the Moanataiari Eection,. the hanginEwall leader in the'rise is, now showing halfway across. It carries good minerals, but no gold-baa been seen. ' Kuraiiui.—No, 1 reef west (shaft loader) \was. broken down, and a few colours of gold were seen., 'No.' l reef east is a fine body of ore, 12 to 18 inches .thick. The manager adds: "Tho prospects at: present arc most promising, ao the ground ib virgin and tho reefs gold-bearing. . Victoria.—At No. 1 level the lead- in the 6topes has' improved in size, and fair .colours of gold were freely seen in tho stone, broken la3t week. In the.' winze. below No. 3 level the reef averages 14in. in width, and has every appearance of improving as depth'is gained. -Ten. pounds of Guartz from ,this reef returned 15oz. of gold.
