HOMING PIGEON RACE.
The Wellington Homing Pigeon Society flew a race from l'arenza to Wellington (480 mild) on Friday last. l ? orty-fivo birds, were hborated at 5 α-ai., and by 6 p.m. nearly the whole of them had homed. The first bird arrived at three minutes past four o clock, eleven hours three minutes after liberation The following were the iesultes-Mr. L Clark's b. c. coct "Stronghold" (velocity 1207 yards per minute), 1; Mr. C. Haynee b.c. cock No. 61 (12M yards), 2; Mr. J. H. Clark's blue hen "Veronlque ,, (1217 yards), 3; Mr. W. Bailey* b.c. cock No. 479 (1240 yards), 4; Mr. X. 3. Uliott's b.c.cock N0.12S (1215 yards), 5; Mr. E. Powell's b. c. hen No. SO (1211 yards), 6. A raco from Ohalmno (137 miles) was flown on Saturday with the following result:-Mr. J. H. Clark's No. 445 (1072 yards), 1; Mr. E. M'lntjre's No. 187 (1071 yards), 2; Mr. C. Bidding's No. 420 (106S yards), 3; Mr. F. Wi 1amS'TNo. 241 (lOlld yatds) 4; Mr. B. M* No. 131 (1057 yards), 5j Mr. J. Boltone No. 9W MOM vitds) C. A tie having reGulted bofwecn Jtesrs A. and J. H.
