The steamer Aidgiyfo, from Babia Blanca, Argentina, had a thrilling cxporienco for her maiden voyngo. On Novembor Iβ a firo \raa discovered in the bunkers. It was got under after fiftecD days' continuous hard work. Threo hundred tons of coftl was burned or jettisoned. Tho steamer was undamaged. THE EDEN'S NARROW ESCAPE. Sydney, December 21. A survey, has disclosed the fact that the Illawarra and South Coast Steam Navigation Company's steamer talon, 693 tons, which, with a hundred passengers aboard, crashed into a high cliff at Cape St. George during a denso fog, had a very narrow escape, The whole of the forefoot turned right over, and all tho plates on her stem ,wcro fractured. Tho accident is attributed to an unusually strong 6et of the current carrying tho vessel out of her course.
